Where are Benje Thermal Baths located

Benje Thermal Baths are located about 12 km from the town of Përmet, Albania. The thermal source lies next to the historic Kadiut Bridge. It is situated right at the entrance to Langarice Canyon.

What has already been done

Several pools have been reinforced with concrete walls. In addition, two pool levels with steps and walkways are planned.

The surrounding area has been partially improved for visitor comfort. A wooden walkway made of natural wood discs now connects the parking area with the baths.

Moreover, lighting poles have been installed and electricity has been supplied. A large paid concrete parking area is almost finished. Several neat wooden cabins for visitors have also been installed.

What is still in progress

At the same time, part of the infrastructure is still under construction. Builders continue working on site. Improvements are being completed step by step.

One year ago, none of this existed. Because of that, the changes are easy to notice.

For now, there are no benches, changing cabins, or toilets near the pools. Construction materials such as gravel and cement can still be seen around the area.

Nevertheless, ongoing work does not prevent bathing. It also does not affect enjoyment of the warm water.

Walking in Langarice Canyon in winter

Langarice Canyon begins just after the historic bridge.

In winter, the Langarica River near Kadiut Bridge is shallow. However, the current remains fast. The river flows through a gorge filled with large pebbles and stone blocks. This is clearly visible in the video.

You can walk along the road above the canyon. Alternatively, you can walk along the riverbed with suitable footwear. Therefore, a canyon walk is a good addition to bathing.

However, moving over rounded stones requires care. Some agility is also needed.

What to bring for bathing and walking

It is best to bring flip-flops, a towel, and dry underwear for changing. A small mat for placing belongings on the ground is also useful.

If you plan to walk through the canyon, plan ahead: approximately 1 hour (a leisurely 30-minute walk there and 30-minute walk back) is plenty of time for a leisurely walk at the beginning of the canyon.

For walking along the riverbed, sneakers, flip-flops with ankle straps work well. Light boots are also suitable.
