In some areas, it needs resurfacing: repairs have started but not finished.

  • From the main road to the guarded gate, the distance is about 2 km.
  • Then it’s another 1 km from the gate to the beach itself.

The beach and the valley are clearly visible for those arriving by car.

Cars are left by the closed gate directly on the road.

Trail to Krorez Beach

Near the security gate begins a mountain trail leading to the neighboring secluded Krorez Beach.

The trail to Krorez beach is about 3.2 km long and goes over a nearby mountain peak.

The hike is quite challenging, especially in the summer heat.
It takes on average about 1.5 hours one way if starting from the gate.

Along the way, you can visit the Monastery of Saint Mary and spend about half an hour exploring it.

Monastery of Saint Mary, Kakome

About 300 meters from the security gate is the old Monastery of Saint Mary.

It is currently inactive and serves as a cultural and historical site.

Inside the main building, wall frescoes, an altar, and several icons have been preserved.
The atmosphere is authentic and exudes a medieval charm.

I really enjoyed walking among the old buildings in the courtyard. The sunlit courtyard felt open and peaceful.

  • The road is narrow, rocky, and overgrown with bushes on both sides.
