How to Reach Lekuresi Castle

If you plan to visit Lekuresi Castle, you do not need to walk all the way uphill from the city center.
A more convenient option is taking a Saranda–Delvina minibus.
👉 Important: the Delvina minibus stand is located about 100 meters uphill from the main Saranda bus terminal.
📍 Coordinates: 39.875954, 20.006350
Fare to the castle junction:
- 50 lek
Minibuses run frequently throughout the day.
From the drop-off point, only a short uphill walk remains. This is much easier than walking from central Saranda, especially during hot summer days.
📍 My experience: I personally used this minibus and got off at the mountain junction. The driver stopped on request, making the walk to Lekuresi Castle much easier.
Should You Rent a Car with DiscoverCars
Although public transport covers most tourist destinations, it has several limitations:
- schedules can change;
- the number of daily departures is limited;
- evening services are less frequent;
- some natural attractions are difficult to reach without a vehicle.
For this reason, many travelers exploring the Albanian Riviera prefer renting a car.
Having your own vehicle makes it easier to visit Saranda, Ksamil, Blue Eye, Gjirokaster, Vlore and remote beaches at your own pace.
Benefits of DiscoverCars:
- Compares offers from multiple rental companies
- Wider online vehicle selection
- More transparent insurance options
- Convenient online booking and payment
👉 DiscoverCars is one of the most popular car rental comparison platforms in Europe and is especially useful during the busy summer season.
