The giant fortress dominates the skyline of the historic city. It is the first place you must visit today. You can reach the castle via a steep stone stairway. The walk from the Old Bazaar takes about 15 minutes.

Inside you will see an impressive military artillery gallery. The collection features heavy weapons from World War II. Do not miss the authentic Italian FIAT L6/40 tank. You can also photograph a rare American Lockheed T-33 aircraft.

The walk takes about one hour at a relaxed pace. Trail length is 1.5 km one way.

Most travelers explore the stone city as a day trip. You can easily start your journey from nearby Saranda Albania. This coastal resort serves as the main transport hub for the entire southern region.

Regular public buses run from Saranda daily for 400 ALL.
