Small Lukove Beach — Quiet Seaside Escape in Albania
Small Beach Lukove is a beach for seclusion and exotic vibes. It is located near the village of Lukove on Albania’s main highway.
The beach is unknown to the general public, and this article is about it specifically.
Small Beach Lukove: Brief Information
The main beach stretches along the shore for about 200 meters.
The total length of the coastal area suitable for recreation is about 500 meters.
On the left side, the beach ends at cliffs that enclose it from the left.
And on the right side, the beach smoothly transitions into a regular shoreline.
The beach is not enclosed, not a dead-end — you can walk along it to reach neighboring beaches.
How to Get There
There is a road to the beach from the main highway running along the country’s coastline.
- The road begins near the cafe Taverna Cafe Ballkoni.
- The distance to the beach is about 2.2 km.
- You will need to turn right onto a dirt road.
Turn onto the Dirt Road
At first, from the tavern you turn onto an asphalt road leading to the Large beach Lukove.
After about 300 meters there will be a right turn. Here you must turn sharply onto the dirt road.
Important: there are no signs or road markers near the turn.
This very dirt road leads to Small Beach Lukove.
Important: the turn is located on a descent — watch the road closely so you don’t miss it.
- The turning point onto a secondary road leading to the shore.
Where to Park the Car
Along the entire beach there is a road where cars park for free.
There are enough parking spaces, and the dirt road is wide.
Small Beach Lukove — Full Overview
The central part of the beach is a shoreline up to 20 meters wide.
Composition of the shore: fine pebbles and coarse sand, typical for most Albanian beaches.
In the center of the beach, there is a frame with a straw roof for sunbeds.

Where to Grab a Bite
There is a great cafe on the beach.
It is hidden in the shade of trees from the scorching summer sun. Inside, there is natural coolness.
The cafe serves excellent hot dishes and offers wonderful coffee.
I had the chance to try coffee with a refined taste.
I noticed the cafe is popular among visitors. There were a lot of people inside.

Sea View from the Veranda
From the veranda where the cafe is located, there are beautiful views of the sea and surroundings.
Since the cafe is on a height, the views around are fantastic.

Camping by the Sea
There are two tent campsites on the beach where you can spend the night by the sea.
One campsite with white tents is more equipped than the other.
Campsite with White Tents
The first campsite is located near the cliffs on a wide lawn.
You can stay in tall white tents with beds inside.
Setup in the Camp
The camp has lighting, and some tents have water supply to the washbasins.
Prices for staying in such exotic conditions are:
One night for two people with breakfast: 5000 lek (about 50 euros).
The white tents are tall and designed for two-person accommodation.

Near the tents there are stone platforms with beautiful sea views.
The platforms in front of the tents are an ideal place for romantic nature retreats.

50 meters further along the shore, there is another campsite.
It has a bar counter and a hall with tables.
- Dining area with tables and chairs in a tent camp.
Tent in the Camp
Regular tents with mattresses are available for an overnight stay.
Rates per person: 2000 lek (about 20 euros) per night with breakfast.

What Makes Small Beach Lukove Attractive
Small Beach Lukove is suitable for people who enjoy resting in natural surroundings.

Note: the beach is accessible via a dirt road through the forest.
