Cold Water Beaches of Vlora — The Secret Coast Near the Tunnel
Cold Water Beach in Vlora is a stretch of several beaches located between the Lion Monument and the tunnel.
Why is the water cold here
Cold Water is a name that comes from the cold mountain river.
The river flows out from beneath a rocky cliff.
The water temperature is low — the water is truly cold.
Under the cliff near the tunnel, the river flows directly into the sea. The sea here is clean but cold.
People often fill bottles with water here, and some even swim in the heat.
Cold Water Beaches: Overview
After the Lion Monument, there’s a line of sports fields.
There’s a football field, tennis courts, and a basketball court.
Right behind them, you’ll find the Cold Water beaches.
They line the coast one after another. Let’s go through them in order.
First Pebble Beach
The first beach starts just after the sports fields.
There are many massive boulders along the shore. In the summer, the beach is crowded — boys jump into the sea from the promenade.
Part of the beach is free, and part has paid spots.
Choose whichever type you prefer.
Second Beach on the Steps
This beach stretches to a pier where a café is under construction.
