Amar cliffs, Albania — a review of 5 beaches with turquoise sea near Dhermi
Amar cliffs (hereinafter — Amar) is a wonderful place for a secluded vacation on the Ionian coast of Albania with a turquoise clear sea.
Cliffs — Information
The beaches along the Amar cliffs are five beaches along the cliffs near the Amar Beach Bar.
The group of beaches is named after the beach pavilion Amar.
We will review a group of three beaches and two beaches adjacent at the edges from the Drymades and Green Coast sides.

A complete review of 5 (five) beaches among the Amar cliffs
First beach — in front of the entrance to Amar Beach Bar
Near the passage to the bar, there is an excellent beach about 30 meters long.
This beach is located on the Drymades side.
Near it, the water is clear with pearly shades, and the shoreline consists of soft yellow sand.

Second beach — near Amar Beach Bar
The Amar beach near the bar is the first beach in the group of beaches.
It can be accessed through a beautiful opening in the rock.
Characteristics:
- length of the beach: about 70 meters;
- width of the shoreline: about 20 meters;
- composition of the shore: coarse and fine sand.
- A distinctive feature of the beach near the bar, as well as other beaches in the group, is the soft sand near the very edge of the sea.
The width of the strip of soft yellow sand is about 5 meters.
And the main part of the beach is coarse Albanian sand.
- The beach near the Amar bar attracts holidaymakers with soft sand at the edge of the sea.
Passage along the shore between the cliffs
It is possible to walk through all the beaches and exit beyond the Amar cliffs.
The path first runs along the edge of the sea in the water and then along a trail and between the cliffs.
At times, you will have to crouch under the rocks at the water’s edge.
Either way, it is possible to pass between all the beaches. I managed to pass — so can you.
Beyond the cliffs, there is a wonderful beach with clear water.
This is what the beach looks like from the cliffs adjacent to the shore.
- All the beaches along the Amar coast are connected by passages.
Third beach by the cliffs — vacation with children
The central place among the three beaches is taken by the Pishtarit beach.
It is ideal for a vacation with children because the edge of the sea is made of soft yellow sand.
Characteristics:
- length of the beach: about 50 meters;
- width of the beach: from 5 to 20 meters;
- composition of the shore: coarse white and fine yellow sand;
- the water is stunningly clear light blue.

Fourth unnamed beach — overnight stay by the sea
The fourth beach stretches along the sea for 25 meters.
Around this beach in the sea, there are many small cliffs and lagoons. The place is interesting for photo shoots and relaxing by the sea.
Here, the water is crystal clear, and the soft yellow sand is right at the edge of the sea.
The sun reflects with pearly highlights in the water.
Overnight camping by the sea
The unnamed beach is quite deserted and empty.
Sometimes tourists “set up camp” here and stay on the shore for as long as they want.
- Any tourist can spend a romantic night on the seashore.
Fifth beach (towards Green Coast) — beyond the cliffs
Beyond the Amar cliffs, the sandy-pebble coastline stretches for about 1 km to the Green Coast beach.
The beach beyond the Amar cliffs is an excellent place for a seaside vacation with turquoise clear water.
This is what the shore looks like beyond the Amar cliffs.
- The transparent sea plays with the sun’s rays.
Advantages of vacationing at the Amar cliffs
The advantages are as follows:
- possibility to drive by car via the highway from both sides;
- an excellent restaurant near the passage to the Amar Beach Bar;
- clean and clear turquoise water with pearly shades;
- soft yellow sand up to 5 meters wide at the edge of the sea;
- a nearly deserted shore;
- the possibility to camp and live by the sea in your own tent;
- a unique landscape of the sea, rock formations, and the shore.
The beaches’ disadvantages are advantages for those looking for a natural sea coastline.
Only on one beach near the Amar Beach Bar are there sunbeds with umbrellas, a toilet, and a shower.
The other beaches do not have these facilities.
You will have to organize your own vacation.
- The clear sea near the Amar rocks attracts tourists.
What makes the cliffs interesting
The Amar cliffs are of interest to different groups of people:
- teenagers can climb the cliffs and dive into the sea from them;
- young children will enjoy the soft sand and gentle entry into the sea;
- adults can swim with a mask along the shore (snorkeling).
Nature lovers will appreciate the natural and untouched beauty of the shore.
This way, you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Look at the nature around you and will see the beauty of life in a new way.
