Drymades Beach, Albania — an overview of the coast from Amar Bar to Morsi Restaurant

Drymades Beach is a picturesque coastline with coves, sand, and rocks.

It stretches from the Morsi restaurant to the Amar beach bar.

Beaches Around the Drymades Complex – A Coastal Overview

The beach shares its name with the modern resort complex – the village of Drymades.

The coastline is located near the small village of Gjileke.

Locals often refer to this beach as Gjileke (Plazhi i Gjileket).

Along this stretch of Drymades shoreline, there are dozens of hotels with their own beaches.

The sequence of Drymades beaches:

• the beach near Morsi restaurant;

• the beach near Leos Residence;

• beaches up to the pier (such as Kuma Beach);

• the pier and Diving Center (Diving Center Adventure Point);

• beaches beyond the pier;

• the public beach;

• the beach in front of Amar bar.

The pier near the Diving Center divides the shoreline into two symbolic parts.

There are unique places along the edges of the coastline.

One is near Morsi restaurant, the other – by Amar bar.

Beach by Morsi Restaurant

The Italian restaurant Morsi is located right by the sea.

Nearby are rock formations of volcanic origin.

The coastline features a rare landscape.

Here you’ll find crystal-clear water and a unique rocky shore.

Summary: a great spot for snorkeling.

Leos Residence

This part of the coast belongs to the upscale Leos Residence.

Features of Leos Beach:

• The sea here is crystal clear with turquoise water.

• Many services for visitors, including paddleboarding (SUP Board).

• A small community with two-story cottages.

Summary: Leos Beach is a vacation spot for affluent tourists.

Drymades Seaside Promenade

A wide promenade with cafés and restaurants runs along the entire coastline.

You can walk along the shore, stopping at any restaurant or beach.

This part of the coast has very well-developed infrastructure.

Kuma Beach

Take, for example, the popular Kuma Beach.

I’ve noticed it’s full of visitors throughout the season.

There’s a friendly and social atmosphere.

Games are available – like table tennis, for example.

And there’s a great summer bar with a straw roof.

Morina Palace Hotel

In front of the hotel is a large swimming pool with blue water and a separate kids’ pool.

The shoreline near the hotel is sandy, and the gentle slope into the sea makes it ideal for children to swim.

About 5–7 meters from the shore, the sea is 1 meter deep.

Pier and Diving Center

The Diving Center is both an excursion hub and a scuba gear shop.

Next to it is a wide, modern pier for boats and yachts.

Few people know that near the pier lies a sunken World War II airplane.

Summary: a great place for diving.

Beaches by the Diving Center

Near the Diving Center is an excellent beach with loungers and umbrellas.

The shoreline here is straight and sandy, and the sea is crystal clear.

Advantages: nearby restaurants, the promenade, and a parking lot.

Beach in Front of Amar Bar

In front of Amar bar, at the far end of the coastline, is a public beach.

Beach features:

• beach width: 50 meters;

• length: about 200 meters;

• shore: coarse sand;

• seabed: coarse sand and pebbles.

Behind the beach is a road with parking.

At the very edge of the coastline lies a unique beach with a soft yellow sand shoreline.

The seabed here is made up of large pebbles, boulders, and sand.

In this spot, the water shimmers in the sunlight with pearly shades.

Why Drymades Beach is Appealing

Drymades Beach lies along a straight stretch of coastline.

Different sections of the shore vary only in umbrellas and loungers.

Choose any beach along the coast, relax, and enjoy the sea.

If you park at the public beach, you can spend time on Amar Beach.
