Mirror Beach Ksamil Albania: Complete Guide, How to Get There, Prices & My Experience (2026)
Mirror Beach in Ksamil, Albania is one of the most famous beaches on the southern Albanian Riviera. I visited it on June 15, 2026 during my trip along the Ionian coastline, and it turned out to be one of the best places near Saranda for swimming, snorkeling, and photography.
The beach is located behind a mountain ridge and is not immediately visible from the main road. A winding asphalt road turns into a rougher access road leading down toward the coast.
High cliffs on both sides of the beach create a dramatic natural amphitheater. Combined with crystal-clear water and scenic surroundings, Mirror Beach has become one of the iconic coastal spots in this part of the Ionian Sea.
Where is Mirror Beach in Ksamil

Mirror Beach is located about 5–7 minutes by car from the main Saranda–Ksamil–Butrint coastal road.
The upper parking area above the beach can accommodate around 20–25 cars:
📍 39.803979, 20.007650
From here, the descent to the sea begins.
The beach itself is hidden between cliffs and cannot be seen from the road, which is why many visitors discover it only after starting the walk downhill.
How to Get to Mirror Beach

You can reach Mirror Beach either by car or by public transport (Saranda–Ksamil–Butrint bus route).
If you come by car, you can drive all the way down to the lower parking area near the restaurant at the beach.

For travelers using public transport, the bus only stops near the main road junction. From there, you need to walk approximately 1 km downhill and uphill to reach the beach (around 2 km round trip).
This makes visiting Mirror Beach significantly easier if you have your own vehicle.

Bus schedule Saranda-Ksamil-Butrint 2026

There is a regular bus service along the coast.
Bus tip:
The Saranda–Ksamil–Butrint bus runs frequently:
- Early morning: every 30 minutes
- Daytime & evening: every 60 minutes
Always check the schedule on the front of the bus and take a photo of it, as times are based on departures from terminal stops.
Ticket prices in 2026:
- Saranda → Ksamil: 200 lek (~2 €)
- Saranda → Butrint: 250 lek (~2.5 €)
There is a schedule on the windshield of each bus.
Tickets are paid in cash directly to the driver. No printed tickets are issued.
In some cases, partial fares are charged depending on distance.
Tip: Take a photo of it to see the exact departure time from the end points of the route.
The time is the starting time of the route from the end point.
Interesting to know: from some points near the end points, you may be charged half the ticket price instead of the full price. For example, I was charged 100 lek (€1) from Santa Quaranta beach back to Saranda.
The driver stops and picks up tourists as they move. If you don’t make it to the stop, wave and someone will put you on the bus.
Important tip: in some places, the bus returns on a different road, and you’ll need to walk to another road to get back. For example, from Santa Quaranta to Saranda, you’ll need to make this transition (walking uphill) to another road.
My Experience at Mirror Beach Ksamil

The first thing that strikes you about Mirror Beach is its natural bay shape.
The beach is about 600 meters long and up to 25 meters wide, surrounded by high rocky cliffs that create a stunning natural amphitheater.
During my visit, the sea was calm, clear, and very refreshing.
The water changes color depending on location:
- greenish tones near the rocks
- deep blue in the central part of the beach
I swam in the central area and really enjoyed the cool, clean water.
On the right side of the beach, I also explored the rocky areas where visitors climb between stones for photos and snorkeling.
This part requires careful movement and proper footwear, as the rocks can be sharp and uneven.
Beach Access and Safety

The beach has a pebble shoreline.
Water entry is generally easy, although water shoes can be useful.
The depth increases relatively quickly compared to some sandy beaches in Ksamil.
Even in mid-June, the water was comfortable for swimming.
Important local insight
In Albania, most beaches include a “Public Beach (Plazh Publike)” area.
This means:
- no sunbeds required
- free space for visitors
- you can sit anywhere on the pebble shore
Mirror Beach also has free public areas along the edges.
Snorkeling at Mirror Beach

One of the main reasons to visit Mirror Beach is snorkeling.
Most snorkelers gather near the rocky sides of the beach, where underwater rocks and formations attract fish.
The water is extremely clear, making it ideal for underwater exploration.
Both adults and children were snorkeling during my visit.
If you enjoy marine life, bring:
- mask
- snorkel
- fins
Photography & Views

Mirror Beach is one of the most photogenic beaches in Albania.
The cliffs on both sides create dramatic compositions from almost any angle.
Some of the best photos are taken from elevated viewpoints above the beach.
During my walk, I saw couples doing professional-style photo shoots along the shoreline.
White rocks, turquoise water, and deep blue sea tones make this location very attractive for photography lovers.
Infrastructure

Despite its natural appearance, Mirror Beach has full tourist infrastructure:
- restaurant
- beach bar
- sunbeds & umbrellas
- parking
Prices in 2026:
- sunbeds + umbrella: ~2000 lek
- parking: ~500 lek (~5 €)
There are also toilets and basic facilities nearby.
